The front building is designed by C.J.L. Kersbergen in a sober neo-style. The property is of general interest to the municipality of Delft because of its cultural and architectural historical value. It is important because of the original destination of Dutch Reformed rest home and the memory of the previous Old Men's and Women's Home.

An added value is the location on the corner of the Phoenixstraat and Schoolstraat, a downtown entrance. The building on the corner of the Phoenixstraat and Schoolstraat, on rectangular floor plan with two floors and an attic under a shield roof.
